NODIS Awards
Students of Collingwood school were delighted to hear several of their films had won awards in the regional NODIS awards for digital media, the winners were The Cat in The Hat, The Health and Safety Film, Gravity Control and the Y13 Photostory.
Four films out of the thirteen entries submitted by Collingwood were chosen as winners along with a film made jointly with Stobhillgate 1st School. Schools from all over the county will be attending an awards ceremony at Alnwick Gardens with pupils representing their winning entries. Kyle from 3P created an animation all about space, made music and edited his film himself. Bryan from the BASE submitted a shortened version of his Cat in the Hat film which he designed the images using the software package 'Paint' and then recorded himself narrating the story.
The sixth form won 2 awards for projects they were involved with jointly, the first being a film concerning Health and Safety issues and the second being montage of their photography and photoshop work.
